About the event
It is said that we find ourselves at the edges of our experiences. You can meditate in a lotus position in your sanctuary to find your center, but can you find it when you’re fighting to calm your breath as the cold tries to take it away?
This transformative Bridge Experience, led by ice bath facilitator, Joseph Anderson, is for those who are wanting to find a new center at their edge. To find comfort beyond what’s comfortable. To test your meditative skills in an environment most wouldn’t want to enter.
In this workshop, we will explore the mechanisms of our physiological and psychological experiences, and guide them towards a greater sense of balance within ourselves through an ice-bath immersion. The cold stimulates our body’s fight or flight response, and we will learn to control this response by controlling our breath. Through this practice you’ll gain a greater ability to regulate yourself during extreme stress.
These combined practices have been the subject of many university studies, which support the claims that this practice can:

This is intended to teach you how to take control of your nervous system and influence it so you can optimize your energies for your life. Through power breathing, you can access your reserves of energy when you need them. The ice-bath is intended to teach you how to remain calm under extreme stress by strengthening your ability to relax.
